A Black Tie Affair

Black tie - a dress code for semi-formal evening events, and worn to many types of social functions. For a man, the major component is a coat, known as a dinner jacket (British) or tuxedo (Canada and the U.S.), which is usually black but is also seen in midnight blue, and includes a homburg hat, a butonniere and handkerchief. A woman's corresponding evening dress ranges from a conservative cocktail dress to the long evening gown, determined by current fashion, local custom, and the occasion's time, accompanied by pearls, or gold jewelry.

I have included such wonderful items in this kit to commemorate the wonderful events associated with dances, Valentine's Day dinners, retirement dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, or any other event worthy of elegance and distinguished formality.

Hybrid Projects with CD Albums

Well, I have always loved paper, so as much as I love my computer and my digital scrapbooking and photography, I have to say, I love my paper and embellishements just as much - well... almost. So, when I created a mini album with my daughter out of a paper bag for a Christmas album for her grandmother over the holidays, I thought about how to make it digital-friendly. I have so many CD jewel cases laying around (I put the CD's in one of those fancy schmancy organizer thingys) that I though it would really cool to make "albums" that would fit inside those cases.

TA DA - the CD album. Now I know it's not a new idea, but it was for me, and I had a lot of fun creating them for you. Here they are: Round and Square.

Here's my latest Page Kit, PEACHES AND CREAM a fabulously delicious and indescribably delectable fantasy of sweet peaches and rich cream for this wonderful kit. I was thinking of peach cobbler and a glass of milk or even vanilla ice cream when I created this kit full of hand-drawn and hand colored elements reminiscent of summer fruit, Thanksgiving desert, or pretty much any other time of year. The color palette of this kit is one of my all time favorites, warm, calming, and full of elegance, but kind of urban and retro at the same time.
